Not seen in a decade

Park Canada is going to show us what sits at the bottom of the Sault Canal as preparations get underway to drain the canal for the first time in 10 years.

Once upon a time, John Rowswell before he became Mayor of Sault Ste. Marie pitched an idea to the city that would have seen a glass bottom to the Canadian canal - where people could watch from beneath, the pleasure craft going through the lock and the fish.

The idea didn't go anywhere, but Park Canada is going to show us what sits at the bottom of the Sault Canal as preparations get underway to drain the canal for the first time in 10 years.   more...
